What to Expect

 

There are many different forms of therapy available to ease the soul – and it’s important to find a style that resonates and a practitioner you feel comfortable with.

I have been trained in the Holistic Counselling approach, as well as traditional Psychology, Mindfulness Practises & other forms of Meditation.

My sessions offer a warm and informal vibe, so you can ease into the sessions at your own pace (feel welcome to bring a cuppa!). 

Some of the strategies I may offer

My particular blend of Counselling is centred around the idea that humans are already whole beings. I believe people are built a little bit like a pizza – at different times, some of our parts or “slices” are in top shape and functioning well, while other parts may need more encouragement. 

I also feel in Counselling, it’s equally important to discover what’s right with you. I believe that by identifying your strengths, you can learn to confidently lean on them, to help support the parts that need the most care.

We also look into any shadow aspects and triggers, with gentle discussions on what is bringing you discomfort. I offer clients personalised wellbeing tools, so they can navigate through internal and external challenges independently, in a skilled and empowered way.

We may also discuss your personal values, so we can fortify healthy boundaries that support your values. This leads you to make those self-honouring choices that lead to happiness.

Many people find these personalised insights and tools I offer to be very helpful, especially in moments when they are outside of their comfort zone. Hence, my adopted catchphrase: “You’ve Got This”.

Specialised Areas:

  • Career Guidance  These sessions are centred around this fundamental question: how do we get you abundantly provided for, by doing what you absolutely love? Your life path is yours to govern, therefore we examine what it would take to make those steps that will see you flowing into the direction you want to be going
  • Cohesive Relationships We uncover ways for you to experience a healthy balance in your interpersonal relationships, so your values, needs and boundaries and those of others, are respected
  • Anxiety Management  I offer effective tools you can use in moments when anxiety is more prevalent. We can also work towards uncovering the root cause of your anxiety and work with effective strategies that help you move forward
  • Homeschooling Parents I offer insightful wellbeing strategies for parents navigating the myriad of challenges that homeschooling parents and carers face – from satisfying curriculum, to child-lead learning, to social dynamics between students (and even parents) and more
  • Colour & Sound Meditations By working with the sensory experience of gazing at colours and listening to certain sounds, we create a strong sense of being at peace in the present. This helps you navigate through life with a fresh perspective. If this type of experience resonates with you, it can be integrated into your therapy journey. I also offer group Sound and Colour Meditations for private groups and events

Who would Counselling work for?

What I offer is respectful and inclusive of varying lifestyles and belief systems (or non-beliefs) and I do not attempt to sway people towards my personal beliefs and values.

Anyone is welcome with most concerns – and it’s an absolute pleasure to see people when they’re ready to take that step and commit to creating their personal happiness.

My Ethics

I respect that everyone’s journey is different and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. I feel it is my job to offer approaches that will resonate well with you.

I also believe that a therapist’s role is not to advise clients what to do, but to guide them to make empowered decisions that are based on their own values.

Volunteer Assistant in a Steiner-themed Support Group for women living with cancer

Mentorships during training, under 2 Australian Psychologists

The list of Meditation training I’ve completed is too extensive to list, but most were learned while living in Australia, Nepal, Thailand & Indonesia.

Pricing

$130 initial 1hr session

$120 ongoing 1hr session (when booked within 3 months of initial session)

Booking deposit, $50 non-refundable, non-transferrable deposit

All reschedules attract a $50 fee

INTERESTING FACT: Counselling fees are often on par with the out-of-pocket costs you may pay with rebate-offering practitioners 🤔

Payment is done via a secure Paypal generated invoice, you can pay easily this by card, even if you don’t have a Paypal account. I no longer accept bank transfer.

How do I know if it’s for me? I am happy to offer you a free 10 minute discussion by phone, for you to feel into whether it’s for you.  Please note Counselling tools will not be offered during this brief discussion. Please text or email me to schedule in an introductory phone call.

Booking FAQs

Payment upfront for your session is required before sessions commence. A Paypal invoice or Australian bank account will be emailed to you. Sessions cannot begin until payment has cleared into my account, so please aim to pay well in advance.

Sessions are non-refundable once paid.

You may reschedule your session at any time, this attracts a $50 reschedule fee.

If I cancel a session, you will be fully refunded for any payments made towards your session, or I can waiver the $50 reschedule fee.

If you are late, your session will still need to finish at the end of your booked period, to respect those scheduled in straight after you.

If you are more than 15 minutes late, or do not show up at all, the session will not commence and any payments made towards your session will not be refunded.
